Welcome to Sundog Alpacas
Sundog Alpacas is a family business owned and operated by Rodney & Gillian Weber with help from our 3 children and their spouses and 7 grandchildren. We are located near Saskatoon, Saskatchewan.
Sundog Alpacas came into existence on a crisp January morning in 1996 when a prairie sundog (rainbow coloured halo) circled the morning sun…and we purchased our first alpaca. Wonderful things were to come.
Since its inception, Sundog Alpacas has focused on the selection and breeding of top quality alpacas. Our current herd includes Peruvian, Bolivian and Chilean bloodlines. Our female alpacas and herd sires are proven producers. We maintain animals with fine and abundant fibre, and strong conformation. All are registered in Canada (Canadian Llama & Alpaca Association) and the United States (Alpaca Registry Inc.).
Our business goal is to have people, like you, enjoy the alpaca experience and become our lasting friends. Hence, we conduct our business with honesty, integrity and openness while providing quality animals and alpaca fibre products, great service and ongoing support at reasonable prices. It is our recipe for outstanding value and it makes us confident you will be happy doing business with us.
In addition to maintaining a top-quality herd, we value the opportunity to contribute to the alpaca industry. Both of us have served on the Board of Directors of the Saskatchewan Alpaca Breeder Network (SABN) and Rodney is currently on the Board of Directors of the Canadian Llama and Alpaca Association (CLAA).
Perhaps more than all else, we enjoy owning and showing these gentle and curious creatures, and associating with the many wonderful people that delight in alpacas and alpaca products, too.
